MAINTENANCE OF POWDERCOATING

COATED & ANODISED ALUMINIUM
Cleaning is necessary if the fine finish of powder coated and anodised aluminium is to be preserved. Deposited grime and contamination absorbs moisture like a sponge and holds it against the powder coated and anodised surfaces. This permits the attack to proceed thereby damaging the coating which cannot be restored.

The cleaning of the product should be performed at a time that will allow the aluminium to dry quickly, preferably early in the morning. We recommend the use of the following automotive cleaning products; Kitten "Glo-Wash", Turtle Wax 'Zip Wash" and RE-PO "Superwash".

Should the above products give less than the desired results, the following car polishes can be used as per the manufacturer's recommendation; Turtle Wax "Car Polish" and RE-PO "Car Cream Polish" NOTE: use only the above mentioned cleaning products. Do not use alternative products by the same or other manufacturers without written authorisation from AMIA.

GRAFFITI & HEAT RESISTING
There is an anti-graffiti style powder coat which has a high level of resin which makes it easy to clean. A pyro-tech finish can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees celsius and is good for heaters and barbecues.Powdercoating shall be performed in accordance with AS3715-1989 Metal Finishing - Thermoset Powdercoatings For Architectural Applications. All materials are pre-treated with a mild alkaline etching process, de-ionised water rinse and a chromatic chemical conversion coating applied and further 2 rinse processes.
